Mom, seriously what is this Tea Party thing?

I received a call from my son, Scott, last night about 11:45 pm. He had just finished working, dancing all day, and had something on his mind - The Tea Party. He had been hearing a few things about it for a few weeks (just finished college, working three jobs, not a lot of time for news) and tonight during his shift at Joe's Garage in Uptown, he heard several people talking about The Tea Party. "This can't be really happening right? Are they out of their minds? This isn't going to happen right? All I know is they are protesting and they look like idiots."

We talked for a few moments about political parties, divided parties, the Tea Party and how this will affect the Republican party. Scott was disgusted that this type of crap was going on when there are so many others things that need our attention. He vented a bit and told me to sleep well. I love these phones calls. They remind me that my kids are thinking critically and doing what they can to awaken their friends. I'm proud of Scott and Liza!!
