I suppose I should begin with "it depends!" But I just can't. I think the truth, even when it hurts, is always better. Ignorance, like the truth, can hurt at times and eventually leads to hurt/harm.
I tend to think that the truth is easier to survive than I lie, partial truth, or incomplete information. Truth is easier to remember. I think the truth hurts when it is delivered disrespectfully, with the intent to harm or is includes the statement, "At least I'm telling the truth." That generally means that it was intentionally stated to hurt someone.
Ignorance might make life comfortable, but when you being to see or sense the truth, there is no going back to an ignorant perceptive. The option to claim ignorance is no longer available. I think when you start sensing the truth in one area - and perhaps this is an area that shock your world view, then you will begin to question and critically analyze everything that you have seen or heard. I think this is a good thing and something that education and life experiences would ideally bring us all to - question authority and seek the truth is the preferred path.
That is "My Two Cents" on the truth!
