If stranded on a desert island (which is highly doubtful that this would ever happen and I wouldn't survive very long without excess amounts of sunscreen) and could only bring one music album it would be Lennon Legend: The very best of John Lennon. I listen, re-listen and listen again to this album since I purchased it some ten plus years ago. When the news hurts and my brain needs to stop thinking about work and life I put on Lennon Legend and it takes me away and puts me into a place that speaks of possibilities, love, kindness, togetherness, and peace. I love that I know the lyrics (can hear John sing them) and that the lyrics mean something to me. The themes he sings about are timeless (which is somewhat sad because it seems that we've had so many opportunities to fix the mess by now) and can have meaning for many people in different places in their lives. Each song elicits different emotions, thinking, and dreams. I like that. I would first never be on a desert island - but maybe stranded in a mountain cabin, snowed in under several feet of snow....yes, that sounds more like me. Do you ever imagine what the world and the music world would be like if John Lennon were still alive? I wonder...I imagine the world would be a different place. I wonder if my album selection today would be different?
